Document Print and Copy Speed Measurement Conditions

Adaptation of ISO Productivity Standards

The new ISO print and copy measurement standards are applicable to inkjet printers launched 2009 onwards.

Plain Paper Speed

2. Common Measurement Criteria

3. International Standard

Outline of ISO Standard
This standard defines the measuring method of print and copy speed, both on plain paper. Speed based on default mode setting is required when applied as a written specification. (Maximum speed is optional.)

• Print and copy speeds listed below reflect measured values based on the international standard and are for reference only.
• ISO/IEC 24734 defines the default print speed measurement methods.
• ISO/IEC 24735 defines the default copy speed measurement methods.
• Print speed may vary depending on system configuration, interface, software, document complexity, print mode, page coverage, type of paper used etc.
• Copy speed may vary depending on document complexity, copy mode, page coverage, type of paper used etc.
• Speeds are calculated by rounding off the actual measurement value. For detailed ISO Standard Print Methodology, Click Here

*ISO/IEC 24734, 24735 define the default print and copy speed measurement methods. Print speeds are the averages of ESAT in a Category Test for the default simplex mode, ISO/IEC 24734, excluding time to print the first set. Copy speed is the average of FCOT, ISO/IEC 24735 Annex D. ADF copy speed is the average of ESAT in a General Performance Test for the default simplex mode, ISO/IEC 24735, excluding time to copy the first set.
