Photo Print Montage
Inspired by Hana’works and want to make a photo montage of your own? Let us show you how! For this project, you”l be learning how to make a simple 4-shot photo montage of a person. So get your “Model” ready and follow these easy steps.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Any Canon digital camera
- A PIXMA photo printer
- Photo paper
- A willing model
- Sticky tape

SHOOTING
- Get your subject into position. Try to keep his/her movement to a minimum.
- Get into your shooting position. Ensure your distance from the subject is the same with every shot.
- Start shooting from the head down, or above the head if you want to include some background.
TIPS: Ensure each subsuequent shot overlaps the previous one by about one third. This may seem hard at first, but practice makes perfect!
HANA’S TIPS
- Change the angle of the camera every now and then to give each shot a different effect.
- Add contrast to some shots by using a higher or lower exposure setting than the one set by the camera.
- Don’t worry about lining up the photo prints perfectly. A little disorder makes for an edgy feel.
PRINTING & ASSEMBLING
- Transfer your images to your computer.
- Start the Canon PhotoPrint EX program software* and choose Photo Print.
Installed during PIXMA printer setup - Select the images to be printed and the type of paper you’re printing on. (We recommend Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy II)
- Under the layout/print section, select Bordered (full) to give your images an artistic-looking white border.
- Once done, align your photo prints to form your image. Use sticky tape to keep them in place.
TAADAA! You’re just made
your very first photo print montage!
