30.4MP Full-frame CMOS Sensor

The EOS 5D Mark IV is equipped with a full-frame CMOS sensor boasting of a 30.4-megapixel image resolution. The large volume of image data that results is efficiently processed by the capable DIGIC 6+ image processor, which also realizes burst shooting speeds of up to 7.0 fps. Camera shake caused by mechanical vibration is effectively reduced by the Mirror Vibration Control System, resulting in sharp images.

Dual Pixel CMOS AF & Support for Dual Pixel RAW

Supported by all EF lenses, Dual Pixel CMOS AF realizes precise, speedy Live View shooting AF comparable to viewfinder shooting AF, reliably assisting 4K movie shooting where focusing precision is paramount. It also supports touch screen operation of AF points for enhanced accuracy, as well as recording in Dual Pixel RAW (DPRAW) format, which contains information about subject depth to aid precise microadjustment of images for enhanced sharpness and resolution.

4K Movie Shooting with 4K Frame Grab

With the full-frame sensor that helps you to achieve a cinematic look, you can record high definition movies at 4K 25 / 30p, or in the seamless Full HD 50 / 60p. The in-camera 4K Frame Grab feature allows you to extract individual frames of movement from 4K movie footage.

Using a 4096 × 2160 (26.9mm × 14.2mm) pixel area in the centre portion of the sensor, the camera records with no format conversion.

61-point f/8 compatible Reticular AF

The 61-point reticular AF boasts of a vertically larger sensing area compared to previous models. Up to 41 points are capable of cross-type AF; of which as much as 21 points are active at f/8. Large Zone AF complements the subject tracking powers of EOS iTR AF.

* The number of active AF points and cross-type points varies depending on the lens that is used.

DIGIC 6+ Supporting Normal ISO 32000

The DIGIC 6+ image processor suppresses noise to realize ISO speeds as high as ISO 32000 (normal) and ISO 102400 (expanded) during still photography. The low light limit has also been further lowered, allowing focus to be established at EV-3 (viewfinder shooting) and EV-4 (Live View shooting). With these advancements, it has never been easier to shoot in low light conditions such as indoors and nightscapes.

GPS, Wi-Fi/NFC for Convenient File Management

The built-in Wi-Fi/NFC system enables image files to be quickly and easily backed up or transmitted online—convenient when time is of essence. The built-in GPS system enables calibration of photo capture times which, together with geotagging, becomes a powerful tool for organizing the large volume of shooting information.
